Forage, Ferment & Folk Herbalism Retreat w/ Heather Wolf, hosted by Cedar Coast Field Station off the sunshine coast of British Columbia.
Autumn is the time of year to slow down, savour the final days of summer and prepare ourselves for the shorter days ahead. This seasonal transition encourages us to harvest the bounty around us; from the gardens, fruit trees, wild flowers and berries, so we may stay nourished all winter long.
This peak Harvest season workshop will spark our inspiration to engage directly with the magic of our abundant bioregion, and welcomes all folks eager and curious to learn home fermentation, foraging and herbal medicine making though the use of local and native plants and herbs.
Learn through hands-on experience, together making a variety of vegetable lacto-ferments, herbal elixirs, deepening direct plant relationship and herbal knowledge. Take home new skills, new recipes, and new mother starters for your own home practices. Deepen the cultural and historical background of these healing folk arts and a community of folk herbalists and fermenters. Participants will leave the course with full hands, sharing culture starters, veggie ferments, and syrups to take home!
